About Angela...
I have lived in Lyonsdale for over 47 years. I retired from BOCES a few years ago and am enjoying the ability to visit family (children and grandchildren in particular!) for weeks at a time! I have always been interested in photography and love the viewpoint from my kayak. Favorite other creative endeavors are writing poetry, singing in a community chorus, and playing and singing in a duo.
Waiting in Fog of Morning - Photography
This boathouse is silent and seems "watchful." Snapping a photo of this scene was an easy decision while I was kayaking on an early summer morning with only the call of a loon to break the silence.

October Swirl - Digital Pen & Color
I had a lot of fun creating this piece around one of my favorite quotes about autumn, from one of my favorite books of all time, Anne of Green Gables. I love using a rainbow of colors no matter the season, and adding in delightful details full of fun for all ages. I hope you enjoy this bright and colorful illustration for fall!

Mischief - Acrylic Paint
I wrote a story to go with this painting. Both the story and the painting are titled Mischief:
The sky hung low and gray, humming with the promise of rain. The fairies knew better than to climb the dandelions, but mischief tugged at their wings. The dandelions also knew the danger. They bowed their heads in resistance, yet without mouths their warning escaped only as a burst of seeds. The smallest fairy caught one and drifted upward, spinning like a spark of joy.
“Come back!” the others cried.
But the breeze carried her higher, thinning her laughter until it snapped into silence. She
vanished into the clouds.
The robin watched from the fence, unblinking. It ruffled its feathers. Rules, it thought, exist for a reason.

She is the owner of Rags and Rivers, bringing the idea for Art in the Park to Naturally Lewis 4 years ago she is now heading the event on her own! She graduated from RIT with a degree in Illustration and started her business to use her graphic design skills to create beautiful logos and apparel for other businesses all over the area!

A piece about current life and being reminiscent of a time when you were younger. The inner child in us all. A photo at my 40th birthday party of my goddaughter that I turned into a painting, a dress and balloon very similar to a photo of me when I was younger.

I’ve loved creating art for as long as I can remember. I’m an artist from Lowville, New York, and I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, subjects, and techniques. I don’t like to limit myself to one style. I simply create what inspires me, whether that’s wildlife, nature, landscapes, or something completely unexpected.
Creativity has always been an important part of my life, both as an artist and as the owner of Snow Queen Studios. For me, making art is about finding beauty, challenging myself, and sharing something meaningful with others. I’m grateful to be part of Art in the Park and hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.

I have been creating art mainly in the photographic medium since I was a teen. I went on to attend RIT and hold a BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration. My love for the arts is unwavering and I love being able to share it with others.
Beneath the Canopy - Photography
My inspiration in photography is often found in the overlooked and underappreciated. During a recent solo camping trip with my dog, Nora, I made a point—after weeks of a chaotic summer—to slow down, breathe, look around, and look up. It may be “just foliage,” but it is also exquisite.
Much of my work is personal and focused inward, so taking time to turn the camera outward feels equally important. The image documents the natural details we often walk through, cut down, or disregard, and reflect my desire to pause, notice, and preserve the quiet beauty of the everyday.

I am a retired RN. My passion is the Humane Society and I foster kittens and help them get to their forever families. I also do a lot of antiquing, gardening and painting barn quilts.
Remembering Lewis County - Exterior paints, 3/4 inch plywood
I use 3/4 inch plywood, sanded and all exterior paints. This one measures 2 feet x 2 feet. I have made them as large as 4 feet by 4 feet. Some are made to be hung diagonally and this one horizontally. This one is a combination of 2 different quilt patterns and a border I designed. The inspiration was that I was asked to make a barn quilt for Jerry Cayer, CEO of Lewis County Health System as he retires and leaves Lewis County after 10 years of service.

I’m an artist born and raised in Cape Vincent, NY. Life has seen me live in various parts of the North Country as well as several years in South Carolina around my middle school years and Tennessee for much of the last several years. Now I am back in my hometown and working nearby in the arts. This position allows for me to use creativity and art for the creation of product as well as imagery for the website. Over the years I have always been creative and a maker, but some experiences and the effects they had on my mental health led to a multiple year hiatus before returning to art for its healing effects. While I practices several types of art I primarily considers myself a photographer. Other art mediums I’ve practiced include pressed floral (alone or for collage), mixed media collages of various styles, sculptural, design (including but not limited to product and home interior), painting, and some woodworking (primarily custom frames and displays)! I believe art has the ability to heal and bring people together and that you cannot take too many pictures!

Jennifer is a passionate art educator and accomplished artist dedicated to fostering creativity and self-expression in students. With over 20 years of experience, she has taught various age groups, inspiring young minds to explore their artistic potential. Her own artwork, characterized by mixed media works that play with light and illustrate unique visual perspectives, reflects a deep appreciation for the natural world. Committed to integrating contemporary art practices into the classroom, she believes in the transformative power of art. She is a mother to seven boys, grandmother to two grandchildren with two more on the way, and has lived in the north country for most of her life. Her hobbies include mixed media art, kayaking, gardening, reading, and theater. She is the Musical Director at Beaver River Central School as well as the Odyssey of the Mind Program Coordinator and coach for the district.
